Format for Receiving Artwork
The Jersey Evening Post's preferred format for receiving artwork for adverts is PDF.

If you are unsure of your Distiller settings the Jersey Evening Post has settings that can be downloaded here.

When creating colour PDF artwork please ensure all colour settings are set to CMYK.

When sending PDFs to the JEP we recommend using Adfast, www.adfast.co.uk.

This site allows agencies to transmit their artwork to the JEP and will receive an Advert Tracking Email to inform you of when the artwork has been uploaded and downloaded successfully.

EPS files should have fonts embedded using FontIncluder*. Illustrator or Freehand EPSs - all fonts including spaces should be converted into outlines. Colour advertisements are to be saved and sent as CMYK (Not RGB). Logos, graphics etc must have all their Pantone colours converted to CMYK. Colour proof required for indication use only.

We currently do not accept adverts via email.

Your JEP contact will supply you with an URN (Unique Reference Number) at or shortly after the time of booking. All files sent to us MUST be in a folder bearing the URN number, followed by a C or a D to represent Classified or Display. Example is detailed below:- JS123456C.EPS (Ad booked in Classified) JS123457D.EPS (Ad booked in Display)

* If you do not have the facility to embed fonts, software can be purchased to do it. The JEP recommend FontIncluder and have found it to be an effective tool for embedding fonts. It is available from XChange International on 020 7588 5588.

Additional charges will be levied if artwork is not received to the specification above.

Colour Reproduction
It must be remembered that the Jersey Evening Post is a newspaper, and colour will not look the same as commercially printed advertising material. Our colour quality is industry standard if not higher, but we will never achieve the registration of sheet fed printers.

General Suggestions and Guidelines for Production of Advertisements
We would suggest the following:-
- Avoid serif type styles as the fineness of the serifs can sometimes be lost with small type sizes.
- Do not use a font size less than 7 point in colour adverts and 6 point for mono.
- If reversing out of the four colour process, (white text on a colour background) we would suggest using just one of the four CMYK colours.

The Jersey Evening Post cannot be held liable for reproduction if these criteria are not followed.

Support
If you are unsure about any of the above, please call us and we can discuss any queries you may have. It is in all our interests that advertisements received by us flow through our system smoothly.
