Mary Le Hegarat will seek one of the four Deputy seats in the No 3/4 district.

She said that her passion for working with people and serving the community had led her to stand for election.

‘Having been fortunate to experience working with a wide spectrum of talented people and organisations over many years in order to achieve results, I would now like to use that experience in a broader context,’ she said. ‘The issues facing the next States Assembly, including Brexit, immigration, housing, and the new hospital are significant. Responsible fiscal management and the need to provide decisive, transparent and accountable decisions is paramount.’

She is the fifth Islander to announce her intention to stand in the district after sitting Deputy Richard Rondel, environmental campaigner Jacqui Carrel and Reform Jersey candidates Anne Southern and Mary Ayling-Phillip.

Current Deputies Andrew Lewis and Mike Higgins have not yet revealed whether they will be seeking re-
election.
