Clayton gets second Wimbledon wildcard

The Islander, who reached the second round of the main draw with Jonny O’Mara in 2017, had his entry for 2018 confirmed yesterday with a bye through the qualifying rounds for the most iconic event in world tennis. He will partner fellow Brit Liam Broady in south-west London from 2 July, following an impressive few months alongside the world number 167.

Broady, who played on Centre Court in 2016 after being drawn against Andy Murray in the first round of the men’s singles, has also been named as a wildcard entry for this year’s singles.

Clayton’s world doubles ranking reached a career-best 114 earlier this month, although it dropped down to 117 earlier this week following consecutive first-round defeats on the ATP Challenger Tour.
