Jersey Sport to approach government with cash bid for clubs

Chief executive Catriona McAllister has held talks with Senator Steve Pallett – Jersey’s lead sports politician – to gauge the States’ commitment to sporting organisations during the coronavirus crisis, given that almost all activities have ceased as part of social-distancing measures.

‘We’re asking clubs to contact us as soon as possible to let us know what the impact is on them,’ McAllister explained.

‘We want to understand the financial impact and we will be working with the government to make sure sport is considered.’

Clubs and organisations can get in touch with Jersey Sport by emailing coronavirus@jerseysport.je.
