WEEK 13 UPDATE
With the competition just over halfway through, we are pleased to release the latest Jersey School’s Investment Competition results.
March proved to be eventful, with the collapse of US-based banks – Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank – which raised broader concerns around the financial sector and beyond. Despite this, equity markets recovered, especially the technology sector which has benefited many of the portfolios in the competition.
It remains very tight at the top of the teams competition with The 5 Muskateers from Beaulieu Convent School retaining top spot with an impressive 23.38% rise in the value of their portfolio this year helped by holdings in Tesla, Apple and Google to solidify their position. In a similar vein, Victoria College BSG, currently second, also holds similar tech stocks. Anglo-Portuguese Alliance complete the top 3 for the team leaderboard. A worthy mention goes to Milly’s Monopoly from Hautlieu School which have steadily moved up the table in recent weeks with a solid performance across all their holdings.
The graph shows how the various schools have performed since the beginning of the year. Highlands College remains the top school for the second consecutive month as its teams have produced, on average, consistently good performance.
