A man and a woman have been remanded into custody after allegedly causing the death of a toddler and his six-year-old brother by dangerous driving.
Robert Brown, 53, and Gwendoline Harrison, 41, are accused of two counts of the offence and were not required to enter any pleas at Coventry Magistrates’ Court.
Brown of Attwood Crescent, in Wyken, Coventry, also faces charges of driving while disqualified, no insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
A seven-minute hearing before three magistrates heard that Brown and Harrison are alleged to have committed the offence on February 22.
Brown and Harrison, both wearing grey t-shirts, appeared in the dock to confirm their name, date of birth and address.
During their court appearance, Brown twice shouted, “this is a f***ing kangaroo court” and called the judge a “f***ing prick”.
The case against them was adjourned by chairman of the magistrates’ bench, John Martin, until a further hearing via videolink at Warwick Crown Court on March 22.
They were taken to hospital with severe injuries, but Casper could not be revived and died a short time later.
Corey was rushed into surgery, but later died. Their mother was unhurt.
