Police are appealing for information after 18 bitcoin mining machines were stolen from a property in Derbyshire.
Eighteen Antminer S9 bitcoin mining machines were stolen from West Bars House in Chesterfield in the early evening of March 21, Derbyshire Police said.
The force wants to hear from anyone who may have seen people in the West Bars area, particularly anyone who may have seen people loading items into a vehicle.
Coins are transferred directly from person to person, and are kept in a digital wallet that can be accessed on a computer or mobile device.
Creating new coins is done through a process called “mining” where users are rewarded with new coins for verifying transactions that take place.
Bitcoin has its own value and is not tied to any physical currency.
Anyone with any information should contact Derbyshire Constabulary on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
