New weekly waterfront events are aimed at reducing teenage trouble

Campaigner Debbie Burt and Liquid nightclub manager Roland Topf have agreed to run under-18s nights over a trial period.Mrs Burt is also pushing ahead with her proposals for a Trocadero-style entertainment centre and is having regular discussions with the Waterfront Enterprise Board and other States bodies.She says the Liquid nights, starting on 29 July, are an first important step.’This fantastic piece of news highlights the acceptance and depth of support in favour of the need to provide for the young people of the Island,’ she said.The manager of La Frégate Cafe has also started to arrange events for young people, including a recent dance and mixing night in conjunction with Sounds Workshop attended by 100 teenagers.
