States may sit to discuss Les Pas settlement deal

Policy and Resources president Senator Frank Walker told the Assembly this morning that work had been progressing well on the confidential deal, particularly owing to the ‘tremendous support’ of the Solicitor General.His committee intended to lodge a proposition seeking States approval for the final settlement at the end of July, he said, and a decision would be required by 30 September.The long-standing court case between the States and Les Pas Holdings centres on an ancient claim to ownership of the waterfront land by the company.
