A working party set up by the Environment and Public Services Committee to review speed limits, which publishes its findings today, concluded that existing speed limits should not be tampered with. However, the group has called for anomalies in the system, such as the 20 mph zones in St Peter and La Verte Rue, St Mary, and the 30 mph limit on Grande Route de Faldouet, St Martin, to be ironed out.The report explains that such roads do not obey the guidelines for speed limits, which, for example, state that 30 mph zones are for built-up areas and villages.
