CI shooters show their potential

The 2003 European bronze medallist, Jerseyman Andrew Le Cheminant, read the wind superbly to gain valuable points while Sarnian Peter Jory was the team high gun and Bruce Horwood’s 449 ex 450 on the final day gave him the equal highest score overall. The CI continued their great team shooting and at times shot as well as, if not better, than eventual champions Great Britain.Jersey high gun Horwood said: ‘Although on paper we could not match the world champions, it is promising to see that we are capable of rattling the best because at times we shot and coached better than Great Britain and the USA.’If we can harness our skills and consistently shoot to our best, there is no reason why we cannot be world champions ourselves.’We have the best two U21s in the world and we have a few others in or around the top 50 at senior level.
