Bob Salkeld’s men’s four finished third while Derek Morin and crew took the open class in their six.

Colin Jennett and Nicky Slatter pipped Peter Jennett and Sandrine L’Hotellier to the mixed pairs while Christine Pallot and Frankie Le Quelenec were the only ladies pair.

SAND RACING: Bruce Dingle made a big impact on his return to racing, winning all his races – despite going the wrong way in the final event – of the Jersey Motor Cycle and Light Car Club event at St Ouen.

Toby Luce won the Guiton Cup for gaining three wins, Andrew Pitcher won four of the 65 cc races and Sam Bingle won all the 85 cc races.

Jack Allenet and Scott Dingle took victories in all their big wheel 85 cc and 125 cc classes respectively while Jason Thébault won all the class for up to 1,300 cc, Carl Wayne took the 1,400 cc class and Brian Brown won the 1,600 cc class.FOOTBALL: St Paul’s FC retained the annual Drainway Services Ltd four-way competition after a 1-0 win over Magpies at Clos de Pauvres, James Fortune scoring the only goal.

Jersey Wanderers and St Brelade drew 2-2 in the other match.SHOOTING: Winner of Crabbé Clay Pigeon Club’s class A and high gun was Andy Johnson with 44 ex 50.

Andrew Walsh-Waring took the B class with 34 while Jack Hanby won class C with 32.

Johnson tied with Mike Barnes Snr for the Jersey Clay Target Shooting Association’s 100-bird sporting selection with 80 ex 100.
