In the men’s singles Dave Burt came out on top ahead of Ken Stokes and Roger Saunders

SHOOTING: Stage 1 of the Jersey Rifle Association Kolapore at Crabbé saw Colin Mallett finish top with 104.13.

Andrew Le Cheminant was second, also on 104.13, while World U21 champion Peter Stock was third on 104.12.IRONMAN: Top junior team in the Jersey Longboard Riders fifth annual beach ironman competition at St Ouen was Elk Leg in the 17 and under class in a time of 8 min 6 sec.

The Beggars (13 and under) had a time of 8.45 and Junior Woof (10 and under) finished in 10.34.

Top U13 individual was Joe Baker in 9.49.

In the senior event Australian beachguard Leon Hay was first in 38.28 and Mel Messervy was first lady in 41.03.GOLF: Winner of the Demi Golf Society’s August Monthly medal competition at St Clement was Roger de Sousa with gross 70, net 60.

Second was Rich Schollhammer with 61 off 17 and third was George de Sousa with 61 off 14.BEACH VOLLEYBALL: Zesty Berry Crawford’s Mob beat Blues 2-0 (15-7, 15-7) in the mixed final of the sixth annual Ming’s Dynasty fours tournament at the Gunsite.

In the ladies final Casa Madeira beat Ming’s Dynasty Pink Ladies 2-0 (21-11, 21-13) and Zesty Berry Sandblasters beat Ming’s Dynasty Beach Boys 2-1 (21-15, 17-21, 15-10) in the men’s.

Team spirit of the tournament award went to Balltastic and the individual spirit of the tournament award to Chris Munsford.ATHLETICS: The Ansbacher CIAC Ladies finished second, just two and a half points behind Ealing in the Southern Women’s League meet at Perryvale.

The team remains top of the league.SHOOTING: At Crabbé John de la Haye was winner of Class A and High Gun in the Clay Pigeon Club’s 50 bird sporting shoot, with 46 ex 50.

Class B winner Paul Lister scored 41 ex 50 and in Class C Steve Savage scored 34 ex 50.SHOOTING: Gary Godel was top shot in the Modern and Military Arms’ 9 mm Tower Carpets Tankard competition with 148 ex 150 over the three distances.

CYCLING: Steve Greig was first senior in the Jersey Cycling Association’s road race championships over eight laps (60 miles).

Dave Jardine was second and Richard Tanguy third while in the ladies, juniors and veterans event the winners were Bob Cabot, Paul Lipscombe and Dave Le Breton.
