New name in Grouville poll for Constable

Mr Murphy, a financial adviser who was born in the parish and lives in Fauvic, will be making his second attempt to represent Grouville.

He first stood for Deputy in 1993 in a four-cornered fight which saw Imogen Nicholls win the first of three terms in office.Yesterday, landscape contractor John Lamy – considered in the parish to be the favourite to fill the post – withdrew from the race.Mr Lamy, who proposed Mr Amy for each of his four terms, gave pressing business interests as the reason for his decision not to stand.
