But their parents have been set an ultimatum by the Housing Committee – they have to pull together as a community if they want the play area to be restored to what it was.More than 30 children in the Nicholson Close area spent all day yesterday trying to block a move by Housing to take away their play park after it became a target for teenage vandals.The day ended with a meeting in Grands Vaux Youth Centre when 38 adults and their children met politicians and police officers in an attempt to stop workmen pulling their playground down.Housing’s president, Deputy Terry Le Main, attended the meeting and agreed that the removal of the park would be suspended as long as the residents formed an association – a proposal which was unanimously agreed.
