She went out for a family meal the day before her birthday with 12 close relatives and two friends – and then 58 people turned up.When she got up the next morning so many people rang to congratulate her that she had to take the phone off the hook to ensure she would not be late for her visit from the Lieut-Governor.Mrs Clements lives at Maison La Corderie Residential Home in Green Street and to mark her 100th birthday, relatives and friends from Jersey, Guernsey, the UK and America came to celebrate with her.
