She reached the quarter-finals in the singles then was knocked out by the Scotland No 1.MASTERS SWIMMING: John Liron won three medals at the European Masters Swimming Championships at Millau in southern France over the weekend.

The former States firefighter, swimming in the 50-59 age group, won gold in the 50m freestyle in a time of 27.32 sec and silver in the 50m breast-stroke in what he described as a disappointing 35.50 sec.

He also won silver in the 4x50m freestyle relay as part of the London-based Spencer SC quartet which smashed the British record by 5.10 sec in a time of 1.57.40.
