Great Ormond Street: The ties that bind

Speaking in the grounds of Government House, appeal president former Senator Pierre Horsfall said that he was proud to be among those leading the initiative to help the famous children’s hospital to continue giving their life-saving care to the same high standards.Mr Horsfall said it was amazing to realise that every week, GOSH staff did the best they could to provide accommodation for up to 1,000 parents of very sick children without the proper facilities to do so, with some parents even camping on the wards. The new patient hotel, which would be built opposite the hospital, would provide essential accommodation for families during the most anxious time in their lives, he said.Jersey residents are being asked to provide £1.5 million towards a Channel Islands floor where local children and their families will be given priority.
