Lorraine Allan, wife of local vet Max Allan, is one of ten finalists in the working hunter section of the Search for a Star championship riding her horse Nouveau.The event, open to amateur owners and riders, was initiated by South Essex Insurance Brokers eight years ago with a total of six categories for various types of show horses and ponies.Selection competitions were held in five venues spread throughout Britain with the 61 horses and ponies gaining first and second placings qualifying for the finals at the year’s most prestigious equestrian event.Winners of section championships will also go forward to a supreme Search for a Star championship to be judged by Robert Oliver and Anna Pritchard on 20 September.
