To reach the final St John have to beat Jersey Wanderers or Wanderers will top Group A and the situation in Group B is the same with First Tower needing to beat St Peter or the parish side, the cup-holders, will play in the final at Springfield on Thursday 2 October.On Sunday St Clement and St John shared six goals in Group A while Wanderers defeated St Brelade 6-0.

In Group B, St Peter won 3-0 against Rozel Rovers while First Tower defeated league newcomers Grouville 18-0.St Clement 3, St John 3: Much-improved St Clement started brightly and tested St John’s defence with several good efforts.

This pressure soon told and St Clement went ahead with a penalty from Tara Marie.St John responded well by hitting back with strikes from Lisa Phillips and Jess Vieira after good work from midfielder Sandra Esnouf.With half time looming, St Clement went on the attack and stole the lead back after two goals by Leanne Bell – one after taking a pass through the defence and the other after the ball came back off a post following a free kick.After a stern half-time team talk, St John started well and although they created several chances they could not convert them into goals.

With minutes left, Vieira was pushed up front and in the dying seconds she latched onto a pass and finished low into a corner to snatch the draw.Jersey Wanderers 6, St Brelade 0: Good skill from Yolanda Gomes set up Chandelle Newcombe to put Wanderers ahead.

St Brelade were now on the back foot and Pauline Smart made it 2-0.Hannah Taylor was excellent on the left wing for St Brelade and linking up well with her sister Sophie they forced several corners but they were unable to convert from them.Just before the break a long range lob from Wanderers’ captain Helen Dirkin made it 3-0.St Brelade made changes which strengthened their midfield and they enjoyed a good spell as Wanderers found it hard to find space.

St Brelade were then hit on the break with Claire Tonner making in 4-0.Tonner then worked well with Gomes for the latter to hit home number five before Tonner notched her second as St Brelade tired.First Tower 18, Grouville 0: Newly-formed Grouville worked hard throughout and played with an excellent spirit.

A well-organised First Tower were comfortable winners with Kerry Sauvage leading the way with eight goals.Others scorers were Jodie Botterill (three), Kim Ashton (two), Nicki Warren, Sarah Le Gros, Diana de Santos, Lauren Jéhan and Katie Warren.Rozel Rovers 0, St Peter 3: St Peter found their feet first to take the lead in a competitive match with a long-range shot from Sarah Gavey after 20 minutes.St Peter piled on more pressure and ten minutes later they were rewarded when a corner was whipped in for Nina Woods to head down for Jo Fuller to knock the ball into the net.Rozel upped the game in the second half and some good crossing meant St Peter had to defend well to protect their lead.

Jo Jones defended well for the home side and Jackie Davies proved worthy of her call up as stand-in goalkeeper as St Peter struggled to pick up where they had left off before the break.However, a poor clearance from Jones gifted St Peter their third as Katie Liddington volleyed the ball home.
