The Island have their second South-West Counties Championship campaign to look forward to this winter together with a Muratti semi-final away to Alderney next March.Matthews said: ‘I’ve organised a get together for this Sunday morning but it is not a training session.

I want to outline my plans to the players and I want them to let me know of their availability.’It’s very important that we all work together as I don’t want to be rushing round looking for players to step into any squad for a match at the last minute.’Matthews said that there are a lot of under-21 players in the squad with a view to their game against Guernsey next April.Matthews, who this season has Tim Houghton as his assistant, added: ‘There are some players not in the squad at the moment simply because they are not presently playing for their clubs.
