Joy at Highlands as £55,000 Ball Park Appeal hits target

The college has secured a £30,000 donation from the Jersey branch of the Wooden Spoon Society, the rugby-based charity.

Their generosity means that work will start on much-needed leisure facilities at the college this autumn.Society treasurer Clive Barton – also a college governor – was at Highlands to break the news to hundreds of students.’The Jersey Branch of the Wooden Spoon, together with the national trustees of this UK Charity, are delighted to be able to provide £30,000 in support of its first project in Jersey, in partnership with Highlands, its students and the Jersey Evening Post,’ he said.Other major donors include: the Sir James Knott Trust; Education, Sport and Culture; Premier Shopfitting; F Nicholson; Bank of Nova Scotia; Queree Architects; Mel Owers Painter & Decorators, Jersey Academicals Football Club and the Jersey Field Squadron.
