The petition follows Monday’s crash in which a car hit a house in Croydon Mews. The car slammed into the house just moments after five-year-old Jaimie Creighton finished playing on the pavement outside. His mother Angela said: ‘He was on his way home when a little girl called him back.
If she hadn’t called him back he would not be here.
He was still only a couple of metres away from where the car hit.’The petition is the latest campaign in a ten-year battle by residents to get those in authority to listen to their concerns about traffic in the area.Campaigners say it is only a matter of time before someone is killed.Since Monday’s crash, they have been knocking on doors and standing at the gates of First Tower School collecting names for the petition.
