Groundbreaking overhaul for Island’s leading payroll system

Grassroots – which is a system designed specifically to meet the Island’s HR and payroll needs – has been replaced by GR2, which caters for the latest legal and taxation developments.

The product is already used to pay around 15,000 people in Jersey and its developer, Itex, is confident that the enhanced product will prove invaluable to local companies – as new taxes and laws makes it imperative that employers manage their staff in an efficient yet cost effective way.

Not only does GR2 incorporate changes we already know about, such as the introduction of an employment law and a benefits in kind tax, but it can also encompass things that are likely to come on board but are yet to be set, such as a minimum wage,’ said Itex’s managing director Ian Jauncey.

‘This has been achieved through close consultation with HR professionals and government and designing a flexible easy-to-use product.

Although developed in Jersey, GR2 has also been tailored to apply to Guernsey, Gibraltar and the Isle of Man.

Itex also hope to launch a UK version next year.

A lot of thought has gone into this product and we are all very proud of it,’ said Mr Jauncey.

‘Every organisation that used the original Grassroots has said it wants to move to GR2 which is a very encouraging endorsement.

The Island is going through a lot of change at the moment and I’m confident GR2 can help companies adjust to, and comply with, these changes.
