The Jersey Evening Post Big Bonfire will be held on the waterfront on 5 November.
All proceeds will go to the Great Ormond Street Hospital appeal.The event is the first to be organised by Waterfront Initiatives, a new group which represents St Helier’s emerging waterfront community.
It will be held on the site currently proposed for the hotel development.
A 20ft bonfire will be built at one end and there will be international food stalls, a beer tent, live entertainment and street performers at the other.
Almost 20 local firms have given their support to the event with the JEP as the major sponsor.
