Now tabloids question illusionist’s gun stunt

Popular tabloid the Daily Star has splashed the story over its front page while The Sun and The Daily Mail have questioned the ‘set-up’, both branding it a ‘hoax’.The JEP revealed yesterday that the stunt took place at Francheville Farm, Grouville.

The States police insisted that no one was ever in any danger and no gun laws had been broken.Screened on Channel 4 at 9 pm on Sunday, the programme showed the magician asking a selected member of the public to load an empty gun with a single bullet.

He then pointed the weapon at his head and pulled the trigger several times before turning and firing at a sand bag.

It was the final shot that contained the ‘bullet’.The illusion attracted millions of viewers but also complaints, with many people calling Channel 4 and branding the stunt irresponsible.
