Head of the drugs squad Det Insp Alan Aubert said they were not linking the two events in any way.The man was taken to hospital for treatment for a broken leg after crashing his car at L’Etacq and died after falling from a fourth-floor window.The police are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry into how the major cannabis haul came to be lying in a field in L’Etacq and are liaising with authorities in the UK and France as well as local air traffic control officers.
Earlier this week police said they were investigating the possibility of a link between the two incidents, but added that there was no evidence at the time.
They said they were looking into every possible aspect of the seizure.
