Football:JFA seek new secretary as Le Cornu resigns

Le Cornu has relinquished the post because he has been unable to off-load his commitments as Flybe Combination registration secretary.JFA president Charlie Tostevin said: ‘It is with regret we accept Mark’s resignation but we fully understand why.

Mark has been unable to give the time required to do the job as well as he would have liked because of family, work and other football commitments.’We thank him for his contribution over the last few months and wish him well for the future.’Le Cornu said: ‘I took the JFA position on the understanding that I would not let the Combination down.

Unfortunately nobody has come forward so something had to give.’I couldn’t juggle all the balls at the same time and over the past few weeks I’ve hardly had a spare minute for myself or my family.’I still want to step down as Combination registration secretary and I hope someone will come forward and take the position.

Football needs administrators at all levels whether it be for a club, the Combination or the JFA and I appeal to people to come forward and help out.’Le Cornu’s position with the JFA is seen as a buffer between president Tostevin and executive officer Gill Morgan to ease the work load.

Le Cornu had been working on helping to push forward the JFA’s business plan.
