School milk’s future to be decided once and for all?

Deputy Geoff Southern is proposing that the Economic Development Committee take responsibility for the funding of the milk – currently around £184,000 per year – until 2005.

But the committee say that it is not their responsibility – as do the Finance and Economics Committee, who have been keeping school milk afloat but whose commitment to do so runs out in December. The president of Economic Development, Deputy Gerald Voisin, and Harbours and Airport president Senator Len Norman will also face a series of questions on the difficulties surrounding Emeraude Ferries.

The questions have been put by Senator Paul Le Claire and Deputy Phil Rondel.
