She is expected to announce whether Emeraude can stay in business – and, if so, in what form – on 4 November.Although the shipping line’s last cheque for £20,000 bounced on Thursday, Harbours and Airport president Senator Len Norman has no plans to arrest Solidor V again.
He remains confident that Emeraude will emerge from administration able to pay its dues.
‘That cheque was signed before we arrested the ship, and I have since been offered comfort from the French authorities that any outstanding debt will be paid,’ he told the States.
