Female ‘Fagin’ in court

Rachel Louise James (32) admitted in the Royal Court yesterday two counts of indecently assaulting a 15-year-old boy and nine counts of cruelty to children aged under 16.The defendant also admitted committing an act intending to pervert the course of justice, as well as knowingly harbouring a 12-year-old child who had run away from his carer and knowingly allowing the smoking of cannabis on her premises.She also pleaded guilty to causing a danger by carrying too many passengers in her vehicle, carrying children in a car who were not wearing a seatbelt, failing to report an accident and allowing someone without insurance to drive her car.James was remanded in custody while a psychological report is carried out and she will be sentenced before the Inferior Number on 21 November.Two youths involved in the case are also due to be sentenced next month.A 16-year-old youth admitted a number of motoring offences including two counts of maliciously setting fire to vehicles, and committing a grave and criminal assault.The 17-year-old youth admitted breaking and entry, attempted breaking and entry and motoring offences.

They were both given bail on a number of conditions.
