After parish fails to act, family takes speed campaign into its own hands

Andrew and Janet Willis, who live near the parish church with their daughter Lucy, are galvanising support to make the stretch of road from before the parish hall to past the church at least a 30 mph zone. They decided to act after a parish assembly two weeks ago threw out plans to make the Coast Road 30 mph and they were told the parish could not address speed limits before Public Services had completed its Islandwide review of speeds. This week they have erected a banner outside their home asking motorists to slow down.

Tomorrow morning they hope neighbours and parishioners will join them at 8 am for a peaceful protest.
