Halloween problems ‘not excessive’

A total of 31 calls were received at police headquarters about Halloween-type pranks as large groups of young people massed at the usual troublespots of First Tower, Les Quennevais, St Clement and St Ouen.Two boys aged 15 and 16 were arrested for throwing smoke bombs at Millbrook, and a number of calls were received about egg-throwing.

One gang of youngsters had their plans foiled when their stash of eggs was uncovered and seized in St Ouen.Earlier in the day, three teenagers caught throwing eggs at a house in Garden Lane, St Helier, were made to return and clean off the mess in what has been described by officers as a positive example of restorative justice.
