New website on CI Holocaust victims

The Holocaust Memorial Day and Channel Islands Occupation Memorial – www.occupationmemorial.org – is the result of a joint project between the Jersey Evening Post, Jersey Heritage Trust and Société Jersiaise.Heritage Trust chairman Jurat John de Veulle described it as ‘an invaluable resource of great historical importance in preserving an important part of the islands’ history’.The launch takes place in the Occupation Tapestry Gallery at 6 pm before more than 100 invited guests, among them ex-internees, families of forced labourers and others who risked their lives during the Occupation in the cause of freedom.
