The JEP Big Bonfire raised thousands of pounds for the Great Ormond Street Hospital appeal and today volunteers were faced with the mammoth task of counting the cash.One of them, Sarah Hope, said people had been extraordinarily generous.’It’s been really amazing.
I’ve collected for many charities and I have never seen people give so generously or so happily.
They had enjoyed it so much that at the end they were still coming up and putting money in,’ she said.
