Lesley Whitehouse (50) was already serving a five-year sentence for attempting to smuggle £54,000 worth of heroin into the Island in January 2003.
At the time of her sentencing she told the court that she was bringing the drugs to the Island under the threats of her son’s dealers. Her son is awaiting trial for his alleged role in a £229,000 drugs smuggling operation in Jersey with two others.Crown Advocate Andrew Belhomme said that Whitehouse had been a model prisoner and was on frequent home leave.
While catching the bus back to the prison on 30 July someone gave her a package to take to her son.
She initially refused but then agreed, but upon arriving at the prison she admitted to a female officer that she was carrying a package.Upon opening the cling film wrap £200 worth of heroin was discovered.
Advocate Belhomme said the Crown wished for a two and a half year sentence to be added to her existing term.
