Morning fog causes chaos at the Airport

All flights that had aircraft already in Jersey from last night were able to take-off on time but those flights which relied on an inbound aircraft were delayed indefinitely. The 9.05 am flight to Exeter and then Dublin was cancelled by Flybe.

But irate passengers say they were not told why the BE302 was not flying.’If it was delayed by fog then so be it but we just were not told or warned why the flight was cancelled,’ said Tony Blyth, a senior night security charge hand at the General Hospital.’I was due to fly to Exeter and then travel to Cornwall this morning but now I am having to use the 6 pm flight.

It is an absolute disgrace that passengers are kept in the dark the way they are.’The aircraft took off from Guernsey and tried to land in Jersey for 45 minutes before the pilots took the decision to go on to Exeter.

According to the flybe press officer, all passengers will be rebooked on to other flights.Principal met officer Tony Pallot said that the fog was expected to last until around 1 pm and would probably have a knock-on effect to flights throughout the day.
