Demi-Leigh Jesson from St Saviour, was entered by her mum, Ally, into the Smile of 2003 contest run by That’s Life! magazine.’I sent the photo in of Demi-Leigh after seeing the competition advertised in the magazine, but I didn’t really think much about it, as I didn’t hear anything,’ said Ally.Then, much to her surprise, she received a phone call from the magazine telling her that they were sending a photographer over to Jersey for the day to take pictures of Demi-Leigh, who had been selected from thousands of entries to be the regional winner for the Channel Islands.Demi-Leigh was announced as the regional winner in the magazine last week and has won £100 prize money.’She has told me it is all going in her money box – and she wants it all in £1 notes,’ said Ally.
‘She is so pleased and has taken the magazine into school to show her teacher.
