At a meeting last night attended by about 100 parishioners, the proposal to commission a sculpture by UK sculptor Marcus Cornish of a shoal of fish – to reflect the parish crest and its historic links with the cod fishing industry – was overwhelmingly rejected.Full report in today’s JEP, on sale at 1.15 pm.
