Recent reports help justify Island’s international position, says A-G

Speaking at a conference on the impact of anti-money laundering regulation last week, William Bailhache, QC, said some governments were still of the view that the Island was unwilling to give assistance in the pursuit of crime.

owever, the recent stamp of approval from the International Monetary Fund and the Financial Action Task Force was useful evidence in justifying Jersey’s international position.

‘I think slowly the battle is being won, but it is hard work,’ he said.
