Director Michael Gafoor said that supplies of heroin tended to become scarce at this time of year when dealers took their holidays.Users estranged from friends and family might be tempted to seek solace in tranquillisers or alcohol and mix them with heroin in what could be a fatal cocktail, he warned.He advised GPs to be vigilant if asked for prescriptions of prescribed drugs attractive to users.
