Goodies welcomed after gas leak

But they were back at school today for the last day of term and after all the excitement were still in the mood to party.

Staff had arrived at the school yesterday to discover a strong smell of gas in the building.

They prevented the children from coming in, called the Fire Service, who in turn called Jersey Gas, and the children were sent home for the day.The gas company later discovered a broken gas main in the road outside which had leaked gas through a drain into the school.To make up for the disruption, the managing director of Jersey Gas Bob Staddon presented the school with a television and video and lots of sandwiches, crisps, sweets and drinks for the party today.
