The Jersey girl then lost to old rival Michelle Cheung 11-3, 11-5 in the semi-final.In the mixed doubles, partnered by H Suryaputra, the pair defeated second seeds Ruth Coleman and Peter Fearns 17-16, 15-7.

Against top seeds Liz Brett and Andy Ellis, England’s number one pairing, Agathangelou and Suryaputra lost 15-11, 15-8 to the reigning champions.Success in the doubles for Agathangelou and Ingram was revenge for a semi-final defeat by Scotland’s K Godall and K Marshall in the first JCS event last August.They played extremely well to win 15-13, 15-11 and then in the final the young pair, with Agathangelou suffering from a cold, excelled again to defeat top seeds L Brett and B Fairhurst 15-11, 8-15, 15-10.The victorious partnership are due to play in the Island at the end of this month in the Jersey Open on 30 and 31 January at the New Gilson Hall at La Pouquelaye.Agathangelou, coached by Steve Watson and Ian Coombs-Goodfellow, has also been chosen for the eleventh time to play for England at the forthcoming under-17 Quadrangular 2004 event in Limerick, Ireland.?
