Successful were the men’s fours, Thomas Greechan, John Lowery, Alan Shaw and Jamie MacDonald who beat Trebert, Dorey, Collins and Le Ber 20-17; John Lowery who won the men’s U25s, beating Daniel de la Mare 21-11; and Lindsey Greechan who won the ladies U25s against Lianna Bichard 21-15.

The winners will represent the CI at the men’s and women’s British Isles championships.

HOCKEY: JMHA Senior Cup games were played at the weekend, with JHC Gobis beating OV Veterans 12-1 while Victoria College 1st XI beat Hautlieu HC 5-3; Evolution OV Convicts beat OV Victims 8-2 while in the all-JHC match Thornbacks beat Ormers on 4-2 penalty strokes.

The score was 2-2 at full time.

In rearranged Division II matches JWHA beat JHC Lions 4-0 and Crusaders beat Victoria College 2nd XI 5-3.

In the first Division I game of the second half of the season in the JWHA league, RWB beat Veterans 4-2.MOUNTAINBIKES: Results of the Caesarean Cycling Club’s Vittel Water U12 race in the winter series yesterday are as follows: Five years and under: 1, Michael Milner; 2, Harry Garnham; 3, Samuel Kermin.

B class winner was Ross Boydens with 39 ex 50 and Paul Cragg won the C class with 37 ex 50.GOLF: In Round 5 of the Stanley Racing Winter League Stableford at Les Mielles GC yesterday Stephen Coffey was first with 41 points off an 11 handicap with Steve Robinson second, 40 points, 23 h’cap and Nick Plain third, 39 pts, 7 h’cap.MOTORSPORT: The Hamels were to the fore in the Jersey Motor Cycle and Light Car Club combined trial held at St Peter yesterday, with Glen winning the A route and Jocelyn Cup while son Charles won the Junior class A.

Christopher Vibert won Junior class D, Adam Le Cheminant won Junior class C while Jack Moullin won the Junior trophy and class B.

In the adult section Mike Mitchinson won the Adult C, Garry White won the Adult B and Terry Gibaut the Adult B+.

GOLF: After a countback the winner of the Alderney Cup Stableford played at Les Mielles GC yesterday was David Hamon, who finished with 40 points off a 13 handicap, with Graeme Hebenton second on 40 points and a 7 handicap.

Nick Plain was third with 39 points off his 7 handicap.VOLLEYBALL: In the JVA Insurance Corporation league, Ernst and Young D’oh beat Peter Green Builders 2-0 (26-24, 25-14); Bank of Scotland Astros II beat Crills Sandkickers 3-0 (25-23, 25-7, 25-21); Eastern I beat Eastern II 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-18); Panthers Red Hot Tomatoes beat Island Ladies 3-0 (25-7, 25-20, 25-20); and Panthers beat Insurance Corporation Jets 3-1 (30-28, 25-24, 20-25, 25-20).

RUGBY UNION: In the JRA Emeraude Lines game between Beeches and Jersey United Banks the Beeches won 20-17 and thus maintained their place at the top of the table.ATHLETICS: Jo McGarry was the first woman home in the Vowden Sports 15km road race from Longbeach to First Tower yesterday, and third overall, in 58 min 03sec.

Nick Gorrod (M40) won in 57.13 and senior Jon Coote was second in 57.58.

Other category winners were Peter Le Couilliard (M50), 58.31; and Sarah Corcoran (W35) and Sue Le Ruez (W45), both 68.20.MARATHON: Two members of the RBC Jersey Spartan Athletic club completed the Walt Disney World Marathon in Florida yesterday.

Mark Allen and Glenn Robinson finished a second apart, in 3hr 19min 37sec and 3.19.38.
