Data protection registrar issues letter warning

Michael Smith has issued a warning to all firms in Jersey to ignore letters from a number of companies – Data Protection Act Registration Service, Data Protection Agency Services Limited, Data Protection Registration Agency, Data Collection Enforcement Agency, Data Registration Agency, DPA Registration Agency and Data Protection Act Registration Agency – who are asking for up to £95 to ensure companies comply with a law that has no relevance to Jersey.

Mr Smith is asking all businesses to let him know if they receive a letter before putting it in the bin.
