Together with former senior Island manager Peter Vincenti, who put last night’s presentation together, the pair have created a fund-raising package for potential sponsors, in a bid to raise £26,000 this season and £35,000 in each of the following two years.
It was viewed by sponsors for the first time last night.All cash provided by companies and individuals will be injected into a match programme for Jersey’s under-18s so that the players can improve their standard by playing football at a higher level.Welsh said: ‘The evening went well; it gave current and potential sponsors an insight to what we are trying to do, where we want to go and how much it is going to cost us to put the games programme into place.’We are currently three-quarters of the way towards our target for this season and to enter the South West Counties Cup next season we must have all the money for this and next season in place by June.’The feedback was good last night and I’m hopeful that we can reach our goal for the benefit of the youth of Jersey.
