More than 50 Islanders gathered at the Occupation Tapestry Gallery yesterday to pay their respects to the victims of the Second World War genocide.
The Deputy Bailiff, Michael Birt, was the first to lay a wreath at the Lighthouse Memorial on behalf of the people of Jersey. He spoke to the congregation, including the families of the 22 Islanders who were killed, about the importance of remembering the sadness and the atrocities involved in the Holocaust to ensure that such acts are never repeated.
