DPZ Capital Ltd has been set up by Darren Zaman and Simon Beal to provide a personal service to private clients, trustees, family offices, charities and institutions.
Both previously worked for HSBC Investments, Mr Zaman as managing director and Mr Beal as fund manager. Prior to that they were both at Le Masurier James & Chinn Ltd, Jersey’s oldest stockbroking firm, part of the Bank of Bermuda which merged with HSBC in 2004.
The decision to start up their own operation has been in embryo for some years. ‘When HSBC took over Le Masurier James & Chinn I put together a bid for the business, but HSBC are not really a seller of businesses,’ said Mr Zaman. ‘But it has been my ambition to set up a firm for a long time.
