Social worker’s tribunal begins

Simon Bellwood says that he was sacked for ‘whistleblowing’ about practices at the children’s home – but Health and Social Services maintain he was not doing his job properly.

Mr Bellwood’s allegations included concerns that children were being locked up in solitary confinement for 24 hours at a time.

But his former employers say that he was warned several times that his performance was unsatisfactory.
