Island’s first ‘money service’ registrations

The Channel Islands Co-operative Society were presented with their certificate at the Jersey Financial Services Commission’s offices by director general John Harris.

They needed the certificate because they operate a bureau de change at their stores.

Businesses affected will be those with a bureau de change, those who provide cheque-cashing services or transmit or receive funds by wire or electronic methods and those that engage in money transmission.
